Richmond Lamptey signs for Rwandan side APR FC on two-year deal

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has embarked on a fresh chapter in his professional football career, having signed a two-year contract with Rwandan Premier League side APR FC.

The deal, finalised this week, will see Lamptey don the APR FC jersey until 2026, marking a significant move for both the player and the club.

Lamptey’s departure from Asante Kotoko comes after a fruitful three-year stint with the Porcupine Warriors. During his time at the Ghanaian club, he made a notable impact, becoming a key player in the squad. His tenure saw him make 68 league appearances, demonstrating his consistency and reliability on the field.

The 27-year-old midfielder’s statistics speak volumes about his contribution to the team. Lamptey scored four goals and provided 10 assists during his time at Kotoko, showcasing not only his ability to score but also his creativity in setting up goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates. His performances have undoubtedly left a lasting impression on fans and analysts.

APR FC, one of Rwanda’s top football clubs, will be looking to leverage Lamptey’s experience and skill set to bolster their midfield options.
