The Executive Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has terminated the appointment of Rigobert Song as the coach of the Indomitable Lions.
In a statement released on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the country’s football governing body notified the staff of the senior national team of the end of their tenure.
The former captain has spent two years since he took over the reign of the team in 2022, led them to a 3rd place finish at the 2021 AFCON on home soil, and failed to qualify out of the group at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, the 4-time Africa champions ended their 2023 AFCON campaign at Round 16, which is believed to have caused the sacking of the entire technical team.
