Seasoned Sports Journalist, Jerome Otchere has commended the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation for the initiative to host some former Presidents of the Ghana Football Association, on GTV Sports+ in a programme dubbed, “Saving Our Passion” to discuss the progress of football in Ghana.
The Immediate Past GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, Nana Brew Butler and Alhaji MND Jawula joined host Karl Tuffour in studio while Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe contributed to the discussions via zoom in a historic moment, to the admiration of many.
Mr Otchere, one of those held spellbound by the quality of production, asked for more of such encounters.
He said GBC has blazed the trail and deserves an applause.
In an interview with Nathaniel Nartey, he asked, “But who won’t watch this?
Any football person who didn’t watch it is not serious. I think the GBC, in this case GTV Sports+ has really shown the way, they have really proven that indeed Legends Live on the National Channel.”
He went on to say that “I was impressed with the organisation, I was impressed with the host. The whole idea of having these 4 former Chairmen or Presidents of the FA, coming together to brainstorm on issues in our game for me , was a fantastic idea, a brilliant thing. If we are going to have a sequel to it, that will be brilliant. What we had last Thursday for me is one of the best things I have seen in our football space in recent times”.

Mr. Otchere reacted to some issues raised during the discussions. One of such is the interference in player selections, and Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi admitted to some suggesting players are being added to the national team by coaches, because they had the final say.
Mr Otchere defended Kwesi Nyantakyi’s assertion saying that a mere suggestion cannot amount to technical interference.
