Spanish prosecutors seek 9-year prison sentence for Dani Alves in sexual assault case

Former Barcelona, PSG and Juventus Star, Daniel Alves (Dani Alves) has popped up in the news again after being jailed earlier this year for sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub in Barcelona. 

Daniel Alves has been in pre-trial jail since January, when the arrest was granted after an initial investigation by authorities. This got his contract with his club side PUMAS UNAM terminated.

Dani Alves who is the second most decorated player after Messi, has been charged with 9 years in prison by the Spanish Public Ministry as punishment for sexual assault. Alves already has to pay a compensation of 150 thousand euros to the victim.

The defender has had remarkable career with both club and country, winning numerous accolades to add to his success in football. This news coming in will cause a lot to all the hard work he put in to get himself up there.

Alves won 42 football titles, including three Champions Leagues with Barcelona and two Copa Americas with Brazil. He played at his third World Cup last year in Qatar.
