Thelma’s journey as a foreign-based player has not only been marked by her achievements on the pitch but also by the challenges she faced along the way.
Reflecting on her experience, Thelma candidly shared the difficulties she encountered, particularly with the language barrier and the local cuisine. “The language barrier and the food, it wasn’t easy but we were able to adapt,” she stated, highlighting the resilience required to thrive in a foreign environment.
The highlight of Thelma’s season was undoubtedly winning the 2024 CAF Champions League, a feat she described as a dream come true. Initially, she and her teammates did not anticipate clinching the title, which made the victory even sweeter. “But we didn’t expect to win. But I was very proud of myself because putting Ghana over there was great,” she expressed, emphasizing her pride in representing her country on such a prestigious platform.
In addition to their Champions League success, Thelma and her team also retained the Zambian League title, a testament to their hard work and dedication. “I was very happy because we worked so hard for it,” she remarked, reinforcing the idea that perseverance and teamwork are key components of success in sports.
Looking ahead, Thelma is open to new opportunities, with several offers on the table. However, she remains cautious and is focused on finding the right deal that aligns with her career goals. “Yes, there are many, many deals coming, but we are waiting to get a better one so that I can go from there,” she concluded.
