 The UEFA Champions league is considered one of Europe’s top elite football competition and is recognized by all football fans around the world. The UEFA Champions League is an annual club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations and contested by top-division European clubs, deciding the best team in Europe.

The last year’s edition saw Premier League runners up Liverpool win it for the sixth time in the club’s history making them the most successful team in England with the most trophies in the competition.

 It’s barely four months now and the world’s elite competition have been on a halt, but the champions League makes a welcome return this week with some mouth-watering fixtures to look forward to in match day one with Real Madrid taking on Paris Saint Germin in a Group A encounter.

Defending champions Liverpool, going head to head with Italian side Napoli which will be hoping to seek revenge this time around.

Spanish Giants, FC Barcelona will head to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. Cristiano Ronaldo and his Italian side Juventus will travel all the way to the Spanish capital Madrid but not to his former employers, rather face fellow rivals Atletico Madrid, a side which he enjoys scoring during his time in the la liga playing for Real Madrid.

For the first time in this season’s competition, some teams like Atalanta Bergamo in Italy are playing for this first time in the group stages of the champions league. Lille OSC also happen to be second team debuting in this year’s edition who finished second to French champions PSG in the ligue 1 which automatically gives qualification to the group stages of the competition.
