Pride at stake as Volta Region battles Eastern Region in semi-finals of KGL Foundation Inter-Regional Championship

The Volta Region’s U-17 team is set to face their regional neighbours, Eastern Region U-17, in the second semi-final of the ongoing KGL Inter-Regional Championship on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. 

This highly anticipated match follows the first semi-final between Northern Region and Western Region at 10:00 am.

Eastern Region topped Group B with an impressive 9 points from 4 games, ahead of Upper East, Upper West, Greater Accra Region, and Western Region. 

Meanwhile, Volta Region secured second place in Group A with 7 points, boasting wins against Ashanti and Central, a draw with Northern, and a loss to Brong Ahafo. 

For Team Volta, this semi-final clash is a high-stakes encounter, with pride, precision, and regional pride on the line. 

Coach Salifu Farouk’s side is poised to showcase the region’s exceptional football talents. 

A win would not only push Team Volta to the final but also restore the region’s football prestige. 

Driven by a desire to make their region proud, Team Volta is determined to prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with in this year’s KGL U-17 Inter-Regional Championship.

The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional Championship serves as a talent identification tournament that intends to showcase the best U-17 footballers from across the ten (10) football regions of Ghana with potential benefits for the Ghana Premier League and Division One League clubs, Regional and esteemed leagues worldwide.
