Volta Region’s U-15 Team Wins Inaugural GFA ELITE U-15 Championship

The Volta Regional Football Association’s Under-15 Team emerged as champions after defeating Team Ashanti 3-2 in the inaugural GFA Elite U-15 Championship, held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

Team Volta displayed resilience and thrilling comebacks throughout the tournament. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the team, exhibiting the region’s rich football talent, skills, commitment, and hard work.

They maintained a perfect record, winning all their matches, including dramatic comebacks in their third and final games against the Upper West and Ashanti Regions.

Their journey commenced on October 17, 2024, with a 3-1 victory over Team Brong Ahafo in their Group B opener. In their second match, they triumphed over Team Greater Accra with a score of 1-0.

Continuing their strong performance, they rallied from behind to secure a 3-2 victory against the Upper West Region. In their final group match, they defeated the Central Region 2-1, finishing on top of Group B with 12 points.

This success secured their spot in the final against the Ashanti Region, who also topped Group A with 12 points. The two teams faced off in the championship match, where Team Volta triumphed with a thrilling 3-2 win.

Volta’s Goalkeeper, Faith Adzanu who displayed exceptional talent throughout the tournament was adjudged best goalkeeper of the tournament Adzanu’s exceptional performance was crucial to the success of the Volta Region team, ultimately helping them lift the championship trophy.

This remarkable achievement has brought so much joy and energized the entire region revealing the exceptional talent pool in the region and solidifies Volta’s position as a formidable force in Ghanaian grassroots football.

The Elite U-15 Boys Colts Championship brings together the best Under-15 male players from the ten Regional Football Associations.

This tournament is part of the Ghana Football Association’s implementation of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, aimed at identifying and nurturing the next generation of top football stars.

This event follows the Elite U-15 Girls Championship, held at the same venue in July this year. Improve this as news item.
