Ghana Women’s Premier League champions Ampem Darkoa caused an upset in the opening Group B game of the Women’s Champions League, WCL which is currently ongoing in Ivory Coast. The debutants came from behind to clinch an important 2-1 victory in San Pedro.
ASFAR’s Najat Badri puts the defending champions infront in the 13th minute. A lead they held unto until Comfort Yeboah started owning the pitch.
With the Ghanaians under pressure, Comfort Yeboah’s rebound went straight into the post for an equalizer in the 56th minute. Try as they may, Ampem Darkoa’s goalkeeper was always ready to deny ASFAR another goal.
Comfort Yeboah’s cross turned in for an own goal by Nouhaila Benzina’s to give advantage to the Ghana Champions in their Caf Women’s Champions League debut.
Ampem Darkoa will face AS Mande on November 9, 2023.
