The Black Stars, held a recovery training session in Morocco on Sunday, March 23, 2025 as they prepare to face Madagascar in their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier. The team arrived in Morocco on Saturday, March 22, 2025, following their 5-0 victory over Chad on Friday. The win propelled coach Otto Addo’s side to the top of the group I, and they will be aiming to maintain their position with a win over Madagascar.

Otto Addo expressed frustration over the scheduling of matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, noting that Madagascar had a more favourable schedule. Madagascar played their last match, a 4-1 victory over the Central African Republic, two days prior to Ghana’s game. “It’s worrying because also we need to travel. Madagascar are already in Morocco so for them it is much easier,” Coach Addo said.

Despite the challenges, Coach Addo acknowledged the importance of staying focused ahead of the upcoming fixture. “I don’t know who is doing the schedule. There is nothing we can do. We have to accept it. It will be very tough. They Madagascar have a really good team, good victory against CAR so it will be very tough. Our Preparations start now. It is good we won and we can focus on Madagascar.”

The Black Stars will be looking to build on their momentum from the win over Chad, and Otto Addo will be hoping that his team can overcome the challenges posed by the scheduling and the opposition. With the team’s preparations underway, Ghana will be aiming to secure a crucial win over Madagascar and maintain their position at the top of the group table.

The match against Madagascar is set to be a tough challenge for the Black Stars, but Coach Addo’s side will be determined to come out on top. With their preparations in full swing, Ghana will be looking to make a strong statement in their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier.
