The Black Stars of Ghana delivered a resounding 5-0 victory over Chad in their World Cup qualifier match, with five different players finding the back of the net. Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring, pouncing on a mix-up in the box in just two minutes to give Ghana the lead, with his third goal for the national team.

Inaki Williams doubled Ghana’s lead with his second-ever goal for the national team, both of which have come from headers. The Black Stars continued to dominate the match, with Jordan Ayew scoring Ghana’s third goal of the night from the spot. Ayew’s goal marked his fifth in the CAF World Cup qualifiers, making him the joint-top scorer. Notably, Ayew has now scored all 17 penalties he’s taken in his career.

The Black Stars’ emphatic win was sealed with two more goals in the second half. Mohammed Salisu scored Ghana’s fourth goal, taking his tally to four goals for club and country this season, his highest-ever scoring campaign. Ernest Nuamah added the icing on the cake, scoring the fifth goal to complete the rout. Nuamah’s impressive form continues, with four goals and one assist in his last four games for club and country.

The convincing win sets Ghana up nicely for their next match against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, in Morocco. The Black Stars will be looking to build on this momentum as they continue their charge in qualifying for the World Cup.

With this resounding victory, Ghana has made a strong statement in their World Cup qualifying campaign. The team’s dominant performance, coupled with the impressive individual displays, will give them confidence as they face the challenges ahead.
