The Black Queens of Ghana are embracing a new chapter under the leadership of head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, who recently concluded his first training camp with the national team in Morocco. The camp provided an essential platform for the players to acclimate to Bjorkegren’s coaching style, culminating in a friendly match against the Atlas Lionesses, which ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat.
Despite the loss, forward Doris Boaduwaa expressed a positive outlook on the training camp, noting that it was a valuable experience for the team. In an interview with the Ghana FA media team, she highlighted the commitment of Bjorkegren to enhance the players’ skills and address areas needing improvement. “Every coach has how they want their team to play. Since coming to camp, I’ve seen he has been trying to improve us and correct where we are lacking. We are hoping for the best,” Boaduwaa stated.
The training camp in Morocco served not only as an opportunity for skill development but also for team bonding. The players are optimistic that the insights gained during this period will translate into better performances in future competitions. With a focus on building a cohesive unit, the Black Queens are determined to adapt to Bjorkegren’s strategies and establish a strong presence on the international stage.
As the Black Queens prepare for upcoming challenges, there is a palpable sense of hope and excitement surrounding the team’s future. With the players committed to learning and improving, they are ready to embrace the new philosophy introduced by Coach Bjorkegren and look forward to achieving their goals in the months to come.
