The Black Stars of Ghana have departed Accra for Morocco, where they will face Madagascar in a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Their departure on Saturday, March 22, followed a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium the previous day.

The win highlighted Ghana’s attacking prowess, with five players getting on the scoresheet.

Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring just two minutes into the game, setting the tone for a commanding performance. Iñaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah also found the back of the net in a one-sided encounter.

Coach Otto Addo and his team now have just three days to prepare for their next challenge against Madagascar.

In contrast, the Malagasy side had a more favourable schedule, having played their last match—a 4-1 win over the Central African Republic—two days earlier.

Despite the tight turnaround, Ghana will aim to build on their momentum and secure another vital victory.

Currently sitting at the top of Group I with 12 points, the Black Stars will further solidify their position with a win on Monday.

With their sights set on World Cup qualification, Coach Addo’s side will be eager to make a strong statement in Morocco.
