The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a comprehensive nationwide scouting exercise to identify talented young players for the U-19 national team. The two-day exercise is set to commence on Monday, March 17, 2025, in the Western Region, at the Sekondi Gyandu Park. The scouting team will be on the lookout for exceptional players born on or after January 1, 2007.

The scouting exercise will cover all regions of the country, providing opportunities for young players from diverse backgrounds to showcase their skills. After the Western Region, the scouting team will visit the Ashanti Region on March 24-25, followed by the Bono Ahafo and Bono East regions on March 26-27. The exercise will continue in the Savannah, Northern, and North East regions on April 1-2, and subsequently cover all remaining regions.

The GFA’s nationwide scouting exercise is aimed at unearthing talented young players who can form the core of the National U-19 team for future international tournaments. Successful trialists will be selected based on their performances during the scouting exercise. This initiative demonstrates the GFA’s commitment to developing grassroots football and identifying young talent to represent Ghana on the international stage.

The scouting exercise is a crucial step in the GFA’s efforts to revitalize Ghana’s youth football development programs. By providing opportunities for young players to showcase their skills, the GFA aims to create a robust and competitive U-19 national team that can compete favorably in international tournaments.

The GFA has urged all eligible players, coaches and football enthusiasts to participate in the scouting exercise, which promises to be an exciting and rewarding experience for all involved.
