The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a significant step in nurturing young talent by appointing eight “Catch Them Young” referees to officiate in the quarter-final matches of the MTN FA Cup.
The matches are scheduled for Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
These young referees, who have impressed in the Access Bank Division One League and the Ghana Premier League this season, will officiate two exciting encounters.
On Saturday, Attram De Visser will face Pac Academy, while on Sunday, Karela United will take on Golden Kick. Angelous Akurugu Adonko will officiate the first match, assisted by Abraham Partey, Philip Amoh and Theophilus Antwi Sekyi.
Kingsford Oteng Yeboah will take charge of the second match, assisted by Joseph Teye Awasasi, Haruna Yakubu, and Alex Amoabeng. Mr. Alex Kotey has been appointed as the Match Commissioner for both games. The appointment of these young referees is a clear indication of the GFA’s efforts to provide opportunities for growth and development in Ghanaian football.

The “Catch Them Young” policy aims to identify and train young referees, providing them with opportunities to officiate high-profile matches such as the MTN FA Cup quarter-finals.
This initiative is part of the GFA’s long-term investment in the future of Ghanaian football.
