The Ghana U-15 National team secured their second win in the ongoing CAF African Schools Football Championship, held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

In their second Group A match of the tournament, Ghana faced a tough challenge in a keenly contested encounter. Ignatius Cyril Acquah Hagan, the top scorer from the 2024 WAFU B African Schools Championship Qualifier, opened the scoring in the first half by capitalizing on a well-placed effort from teammate John Andor.

The South African U-15 team struggled to gain momentum in the first half, as the Ghanaian side dominated play and applied relentless pressure in pursuit of additional goals.

The South African U-15 team emerged from the break with renewed passion, pushing hard for an equalizer and potentially a winning goal. They created numerous opportunities but were unable to convert them, missing several clear chances.

Ghana’s defensive line, led by centre-back Abdul Razack, proved difficult to penetrate for the South African attackers. Despite persistent pressure, South Africa couldn’t find a breakthrough. With no goals scored in the final 20 minutes, the resilient Ghana U-15 side held strong and grabbed all three points in their second match of the tournament.

Ghana has now secured back-to-back victories in Group A, gaining a total of 6 points and 3 goals scored so far. The Ghana U-15 team will take on Algeria in their final group stage match, while South Africa is set to face both Uganda and Algeria as they battle for a place in the semifinals of the tournament.
