Division One side Golden Kick have advanced to the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup after defeating Karela United 5-3 on penalties at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The quarter-final match ended goalless in regulation time, leading to a penalty shootout.
Karela United’s Fatawu Mohammed missed a crucial penalty, allowing Golden Kick to secure victory.
Golden Kick become the second lower-tier club to reach the semifinals of this year’s competition, following Attram De Visser’s qualification on Saturday, 29 March 2025.
They join Berekum Chelsea and Attram De Visser in the last four.
Both teams created scoring chances during the match but were unable to convert, resulting in a 0-0 draw at full time.
The penalty shootout determined the winner, with Golden Kick emerging victorious.
Karela United exit the tournament at the quarter-final stage, missing the opportunity to advance further in the competition.
