Berekum Chelsea put up a spirited fight at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium but ultimately fell short in a 1-0 defeat to league leaders Asante Kotoko

Despite dominating the early stages of the match, Chelsea struggled to convert their chances into goals, and a moment of brilliance from Kotoko’s Daniel Adjetey proved decisive. Adjetey’s powerful strike from outside the box in the 79th minute broke the deadlock, silencing the Chelsea faithful and sealing the win for Kotoko.

Chelsea’s performance was a tale of missed opportunities and frustration. The visitors started the game on the front foot, creating the better chances in the first half, but their lack of clinical finishing came back to haunt them.

Kotoko, on the other hand, rode their luck at times but showed the resilience that has defined their season. Kotoko’ home victory extended their unbeaten run to six league games, solidifying their grip on the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

The match also served as a precursor to a highly anticipated rematch in the Ghana FA Cup semi-finals next month. Both teams will lock horns again, and Chelsea will be eager to avenge this narrow defeat.

For now, Kotoko continues to set the pace in the league, while Chelsea remains in ninth place, hoping to build on their promising display ahead of the upcoming cup clash.
