Mohammed Kudus has become a household name, especially with his iconic chair celebration. But what you might not know is the story behind his celebration during West Ham vs Brighton game at the London Stadium on December 21, 2024 where Kudus celebrated with a brown elephant crafted stool.

It all started with a young entrepreneur and carpenter named Terkper Frank. Frank was inspired by Kudus’ unique celebration style and decided to create a custom-made chair for him which is different from the chair Kudus used in West Ham’s game against Brighton.

Although the plan was for Kudus to score and celebrate with the chair, the midfielder unfortunately missed a penalty, and the celebration didn’t happen. Despite this setback, Frank is determined to get the chair to Kudus ahead of the upcoming games against Chad and Madagascar. Frank believes that Kudus will score and celebrate with the chair, fulfilling his long-held wish.

In an interview with GBC Digital Studios, Frank revealed that he was inspired to create the chair after seeing Kudus’ iconic celebration. “I’m a footballer, too and I stopped because of financial problems. So I decided to learn carpentry. And through, along the line, I saw that Kudus celebrate with the chair. So I did it for him to celebrate with,” Frank explained. He also mentioned that he gave his number to goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, in the hopes that it would eventually reach Kudus.

Frank’s determination and passion are admirable, and his gift is a testament to the impact that Kudus has had on Ghanaian football. As the Black Stars prepare to face Chad and Madagascar, Frank’s chair remains a symbol of the team’s spirit and resilience.

With Kudus’ iconic chair celebration inspiring fans around the world, it’s clear that Frank’s gift will be a cherished keepsake for the midfielder. Whether or not Kudus scores and celebrates with the chair in the upcoming games, Frank’s efforts have already made a lasting impact on Ghanaian football.
