Mondo Duplantis, the reigning Olympic and world champion from Sweden, has once again redefined the standards of pole vaulting by breaking his world record for the 11th time.

At the All-Star Perche meet in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Duplantis shattered the previous mark of 6.26 meters with a groundbreaking leap of 6.27 meters. This latest feat, achieved with ease, further solidifies his status as one of the most dominant athletes in the sport.

Duplantis, just 25 years old, has been on a relentless quest to surpass his own achievements. Since breaking the world record for the first time in 2020, he has improved it by just one centimetre each time. This consistency is a testament to his dedication, precision, and physical prowess. His latest success came on the very first attempt at the Clermont-Ferrand meet, showcasing his confidence and readiness to perform at the highest level.

The competition in Clermont-Ferrand was electric, with Duplantis executing a near-perfect series of jumps. He cleared 5.65 meters, 5.91 meters, 6.02 meters, and then 6.07 meters with room to spare, ultimately landing at 6.27 meters. This performance underscored his technical mastery and psychological strength, as he remained focused and composed under the intense spotlight.

In a post-event interview, Duplantis expressed his satisfaction with the achievement. “I just felt really good. What can I say? I came here to do it. I put everything in place to do it. The run-up worked really well. I just did it,” he said.
