The CEO of Cyber1 Defense and Communication and a Cyber Security Analyst, David Gyedu stated on the breakfast show that this is a year of privacy, and so we should know the kind of information we give out to people.

In an interview with David Gyedu, he explained that digital tracking is the way and means everything tech around has to keep information about or take something from us.

According to him, there are a lot of risks involved in digital tracking.

“They get to know who you are, what you do, what you like and don’t like, the time and hours you access the internet, and where you were while accessing the network. This is because some even record your location because of the IP address or GPS address, which are all impeding our privacy,” He said.

David Gyedu also highlighted that there are types of digital tracking where people get access to our details.

“First-party tracking; is the act where the site you visit directly collects information about users and records the activities of visitors.

Third-party tracking apps are the ones we actually allow them to access information from us through other sites. And also, we have the GPS tracking, where they get to know your address or the exact location you are.” He explained

According to David, there are a lot of platforms that could help one disconnect from being tracked. “An example is disconnecting me. It disconnects you from every track.

Also, ghosteries. These are like extensions. They sit in between the browsers and web pages you are accessing, which is another platform that also protects your web browsers and your online experiences from other third parties or from being exposed to the world?” He added.

He again urged the public to be careful online and said,

“Whatever we do today is known online, so let’s do our possible best to think about privacy. This is because we are giving out a lot that we don’t know. We should know the kind of information we give out to people.”

Additionally, he commended artificial intelligence (AI) because of the major role it is playing in digital tracking, as we now use it for a lot of thing.
