The CEO of Cyber1Defense, a cybersecurity expert, David Gyedu has shed light on the escalating cybersecurity threats facing remote areas, stressing the imperative need to address and educate individuals in these areas.

During an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show, the CEO underscored how the surge in digitalization has placed residents of remote areas at a disadvantage, making it essential to pay attention to their unique challenges and provide education to bolster cybersecurity.

Cyber1Defense, recognizing this need, has taken significant steps to organize training programs in remote areas with the aim of empowering and ensuring safety in these communities,the CEO stated.

“Cyber1defense’s efforts to provide cybersecurity training in remote areas demonstrate a proactive approach towards empowering communities and mitigating the risks associated with cyber threats,” he said.

Mr. Gyedu, detailed prevalent cybersecurity threats in these rural areas, pinpointing Whatsapp attacks and OTP code exploitation, fertilizer scams, mobile money fraud, and abroad scams as the most dominant concerns.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of cybersecurity in remote areas, a collective effort that can lead to a safer digital environment for everyone.
