Telecommunication companies have a deadline of Monday, April 17, 2023, to ensure that all SIM cards disconnected during the re-registration are removed from the database.
“All SIMs registered after the limit of ten (10) must be removed from SIM registration databases and deactivated, with the same reflected in the Central SIM Register by Monday, 17th April 2023,” the NCA noted in a statement.
According to the NCA, data on the de-linked SIM Cards must reflect in the Central SIM Registering System.
The deadline on this instruction is Monday, April 17, 2023.
NCA says the data must include SIMs that remained blocked in compliance with the Communication Minister’s directive in November 2022.
NCA notes that failure to comply with the directive means ”a violation of Regulations 1 of the Subscriber Identity Module Registration Regulations, 2011”.
Telecommunication Companies in Ghana are also required to provide the NCA the total number of SIMs disconnected in compliance with the directive by Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
