Turkish football club Besiktas have officially announced the termination of defender Daniel Amartey‘s contract by mutual agreement. The decision, which has been confirmed by both the club and the player, marks the end of Amartey’s tenure with the team. This development comes as a surprise to many fans who have followed his career closely.

Daniel Amartey, who is 29 years old, joined Besiktas with high expectations. During his time with the club, he showcased his defensive skills and contributed to several important matches. However, both parties have now decided that parting ways is the best course of action. The specifics behind the mutual agreement have not been disclosed, but it is clear that this decision was made amicably.

With his contract now terminated, Daniel Amartey will be available as a free agent. This status opens up new opportunities for him, as he can now negotiate with other clubs without any transfer fees. Given his experience and talent, it is anticipated that Amartey will attract interest from various teams looking to strengthen their defence.

Daniel Amartey, during the 2024-2025 summer, got himself entangled with some options where he was close to joining a club in Saudi Arabia, but it was alleged that he only wanted a move to either a club in Germany or England.

“Amartey is a strange person. We made an agreement with a team from Saudi Arabia, but he did not get on the plane. We agreed with Eyüpspor; he escaped through the back door of our facilities. He said, “I will go to Germany or England.” When he was told ‘the transfer window is closed’, he said, ‘How will it close?” Besiktas spokesman Hüseyin Yücel on Daniel Amartey.

Besiktas, on the other hand, will need to adjust their defensive strategies moving forward. The club will likely explore options to fill the gap left by Amartey’s departure. Fans are eager to see how the team will adapt and who will step up to take on a more prominent role in the defence.
