Manchester City squared off with Liverpool on what seems to be the greatest rivalry in recent times in the Premier League. The Cityzens went into this game sitting on top of the league table with Liverpool closely behind them at second.
City’s goal poacher, Haaland got his name on the score sheet, scoring his 50th Premier League goal in 48 outings by finding the bottom corner after found in space by Ake in the 27th minute.
Alison looked shaky in most part of the match which saw his mistake being punished by Haaland after coming out to kick a ball in a rush. City could’ve been up by 2 goals in the early stages.
The second half offered some chances for both sides, with Ruben Dias goal being ruled out by VAR as his fellow centre back partner was accused of have fouled Alison. Ederson on the other hand denied Nunez at his near post.
Liverpool, however grow back into the game to avoid any setback in their title ambitions as Trent Alexander-Arnold found the bottom left corner in the 80th minute with a great finish to cap an impressive performance.
Arnold’s goal secured a 1:1 draw at the end of the game. The results keeps city one point clear of Liverpool on top of the league table.
