A Security Expert Col. Festus Aboagye has described as regrettable the renewed clashes between Hamas and Israel.
He said for there to be a lasting peace between Israel and Palestine, the two countries must return to the negotiation table.
Col. Aboagye faulted Israel for disregarding a number of international conventions by settling its citizens on conquered lands and taking control over the whole of Jerusalem.
Speaking with GBC News, Col. Aboagye said “the choices available to Israel now are limited and none of which is even favorable”, insisting that “…political solution is the only way out”.
Meanwhile, Ghana has unequivocally condemned Hamas’ rocket attack on Israel and asked the militant group to withdraw from southern Israel.
Government says it is deeply saddened and shocked by ongoing events in Israel where Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip infiltrated into southern Israel to attack innocent Israeli civilians amid a barrage of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Ghana called on the two sides to the Israel-Palestinian conflict to return to the negotiation table.
