Two Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of United Denominations of Action Chapel Churches, and Reverend Eastwood Anaba of Eastwood Anaba Ministries, have officially tendered their resignation as members.
A joint letter signed and addressed to President Akufo-Addo, made particular reference to a draft resolution submitted to the Board to put on hold, activities relating to the construction of the National Cathedral until the findings of an audit.
The letter said they requested for the appointment of an independent audit, for the sake of transparency and accountability following public misgivings, but that has not been enacted.
They said since this request was not heeded to; it was highly expedient for them to submit their resignation from the Board.
The action it further said is not in any way meant to impugn the vision or intent of the National Cathedral, but to ensure that it is advanced and built on a foundation of integrity, efficiency and quality, so as to maintain public trust and support.
The two renowned Ministers of God expressed profound salutations to the President for the confidence reposed in them regarding their appointment to the board and their involvement on issues of national significance. It hoped to see the vision of the cathedral that provides a ‘sacred space and infrastructure” for formal religious and other social functions realized at their time.
