The Police are on a search for an accused person Raphael Atitso who escaped from the premises of the Adenta Court shortly after they were granted bail for stealing.

Atitso and his accomplice Isaac Quaye, both drivers were leaving the courtroom after the hearing into a waiting Police vehicle to be escorted back when they managed to open the handcuff and bolted. Quaye was however rearrested and brought back to the court. The two are facing two charges of conspiracy and stealing.

Judge Sedinam Awo Balokah admitted each of them to bail in the sum of 50 thousand cedis with two sureties, one to be justified.

Last October 1, the two allegedly broke into a shop at Adenta through the ceiling and stole a television set, bottles of beer, packets of cigarettes, packets of biscuits and cash of 500 cedis.

The shop owner lodged a complaint with the Police and mentioned Atitso as the prime suspect. Atitso was arrested and during investigation admitted the offence and mentioned Quaye as his accomplice. The television has since been retrieved. The case was adjourned to November 15.
