The President/Founder Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Lawrence Tetteh, has called on the media and individuals to remain sensitive with their choice of words and also avoid making up stories about Christian Atsu’s death with the intention of making money.
Speaking on GTV’s Breakfast Show, Dr. Tetteh added that Atsu has done a lot for Ghana and even individuals, but it is so sad that he died a very tragic death at a very young age of 31 years, therefore there is the need for all to show their last respect in a nice way.
“Please let us not abuse the privileges we have on media and social media. Atsu died in a very tragic way, let us not make stories out of it to let us make money in the name of social media. And let us also be sensitive to the fact that Atsu comes from a family, and they are grieving and mourning,” he said.
He also called on everyone not to politicize Atsu’s death and funeral but rather focus on the need to give him a befitting burial.
Atsu, a Ghanaian footballer, was discovered dead under the rubble almost two weeks after the tragic earthquake that struck Turkey, killing thousands and rescuing some.
Plans are underway by the family, close friends, and sympathizers who loved him to give him a befitting burial. There will be a one-week celebration on March 4, 2023.
