The Co-Chair of the Citizens Movement Against Corruption, Edem Senanu, has lauded the Office of the Special Prosecutor for doing a good job in fighting corruption in Ghana.
Commenting on the recently released report of the OSP, Mr. Senanu said ”the work of the Special Prosecutor must be supported to deter would-be corrupt persons”.
”I think it is first of all commendable that the Special Prosecutor is fulfilling the mandate of making sure that every six months, we put out a report in the public space to indicate what they have been doing. Beyond that, there are a variety of cases, 132 of them…
It tells you that the capacity to do a thorough investigation and prosecute simultaneously is greatly weakened by where they find themselves today. So there is a lot more work that we ought to do in terms of resourcing so that the office is popularly established.”
