As part of marking the Eid-ul-Fitr which is the commemoration of the end of the Ramadan fasting, Muslims in the Eastern Regional capital have converged at the Koforidua Central Mosque to pray and give thanks to Allah for his protection and guidance throughout the Ramadan Fasting period.
The Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yusif Amudani Sulemana praying to Allah during the ceremony advised and prayed for the leadership of the country. He also urged Muslim communities in the country to continue to pray for the leaders in the country for protection and wisdom from Allah to provide the development the country requires.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong urged Muslim Communities to forgive each other and continue to pray for Ghana and the world as a whole. Mr. Kwame Acheampong noted that the globe is going through an economic challenge and hardship and as Ghana is also part of the globe, the economic challenge of the globe is having impact on the country.
In an interview with the Eastern Regional Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Fuseini Fadiru Fafana noted that during the fasting period, government through the efforts of the Eastern Regional Executives of the NPP have ensured that they provide whatever the Muslim communities in the region require to make the period successful.
He noted that government provided food items to almost all the Muslim communities in the region to make the period successful and urged everyone to support the government in order to deliver the development the country requires.
An opinion leader of the Muslim Communities in the Region and a Member of the NPP Council of Elders in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Bola Faila showed gratitude to Allah for his protection throughout the fasting period. He advised Muslim youth to desist from activities that will dent the image of the Muslim Communities in Ghana. He prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for media practitioners for being the voice of the marginalized and the less privileged in the country.
