The Bono-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, has disclosed that a quantity of government subsidized fertilizer valued at about GH¢600, 000.00 has been stolen from the Sunyani Municipal Warehouse.
The fertiliser is part of a consignment sent to the region for prospective farmers under the “Planting for Food and Jobs” program.
The case has been reported to the Regional Crime office of the Ghana Police Service, the Bureau of National Investigations and Economic and Organised Crime Office among other security agencies for investigations.
Addressing the Media at a press conference in Sunyani, Mr. Asomah-Cheremeh said seven officers of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture have been arrested and are assisting the police to investigate the matter.
