The National Media Commission, NMC has directed Accra based radio station, ‘Power FM’ to apologise to the wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia, for broadcasting derogatory comments against her and the Fulani community in Ghana.

Power FM, according to a statement from the NMC, signed by the Executive Secretary, George Sarpong, is alleged to have made perverted and debased broadcast on November 1 against the wife of the Vice President, which the NMC deems incompatible with the pursuit of national unity.

The Statement condemned the conduct of the show’s moderator, who it claims encouraged the commentator to make further disparaging remarks about Samira Bawumia.

The NMC has therefore, directed Power FM to apologize to her and submit proof of the apology to the Commission before November 11.
