The Nana Ahenkan Foundation, a Non-governmental Organisation, that is into reaching out and putting smiles on the faces of widows, orphans, and the less-privileged in society at Kade in the Kwaebibirem Municipality, has donated items worth over GH¢ 15,000 to the Good Shepherd Development Outreach Orphanage at Osabarima Estate in Akwatia in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region.
The items include bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, thirty cartons of assorted drinks, five packs of bottle water, five sachets of water, cartons of milk, biscuits, and toiletries, among others.
In an interview with GBC News at Akwatia during the donation, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Nana Ahenkan, hinted that the aim of the foundation is to help bring people together and also make them aware of the role they have to play in society to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Nana Ahenkan spoke to GBC News about the reason behind the donation.
The Founder of Good Shepherd Development Outreach Orphanage, Philomena Asantewaa Agyei, thanked the Foundation for remembering them and coming to their aid.
She appealed to other philanthropists, NGOs, and benevolent organisations to replicate the kind gesture of the Nana Ahenkan Foundation.
The Good Shepherd Development Outreach Orphanage was established in 2008 by Madam Asantewaa Agyei through inspiration from God. The home currently has 32 children and has been able to support some of the children to complete University and other tertiary institutions.
