Senior High School Girls at the T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS at Potsin in the Central Region have been educated on reproductive health and issues affecting girls in the country.
The program was also to empower and inspire the girls to achieve greater heights in their academic journey.
The girls were educated on sexual consent, how to free themselves during rape, or say no without feeling guilty, menstrual hygiene, managing peer pressure, building confidence, how to study effectively, emotional intelligence, career choices, stem inspiration, among others.
With the mission of instilling the spirit of excellence in young girls and nurturing them to become women of substance to take on leadership roles in all spheres of life, the Executive Director of Girls Excellence Movement (GEM), Mrs. Juliana Kplorfia, said since its inception 10 years ago, the Movement has transformed the lives of many girls.
Miss Kplorfia called on organisations and individuals to support the movement to be able to empower, educate, and invest more in girl-child education to unearth their talents for national progress.
Some of the girls shared their experiences.
