British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is spending a second night in intensive care as he continues to receive treatment for coronavirus.
According to Downing Street, the PM is being kept at St Thomas’ Hospital in London “for close monitoring” Mr Johnson’s condition is “stable” and he remains in “good spirits.
Downing Street also confirmed that the planned review into whether the UK’s coronavirus restrictions could be eased will not go ahead.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is deputizing fo.r Mr Johnson said he is “confident” the PM will recover from the illness, describing him as a “fighter”.
Speaking on Downing Street in a coronavirus briefing, Mr. Raab said Mr. Johnson is receiving standard oxygen treatment and breathing without any assistance, such as mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.
