A five-time Ghanaian award-winning journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Kweku Bolton, has received another nomination for another award. This time, it is in Germany.

He took advantage of an application open to all journalists across the world to submit their nominations for the Berlin Science Journalism Research Grant, and luck shined on him. From the large number of applications received by the Falling Walls Foundation in Germany, the name Kweku Bolton came in first, as the judges consider his journalistic reports worthy and excellent. Bolton’s in-depth documentary and reports exposed the road menace, the misery of road accidents, the danger of tobacco smoking, and high malaria cases.

Bolton, together with thirteen journalists, have been invited to join the Berlin Science Week 2023 Journalism Research Grant.

The journalists will receive grants for their hard work. About 200 professional Scientists, Researchers, Engineers and Technologists are expected to join the program in Berlin, Germany, by November 10, 2023.

Also, digital space has been provided online. The selected people will participate in Climate Change, Space and Earth, Health and Wellbeing, Technology Innovation,  among others.

Kweku Bolton has so far won about five awards to his credit. In October 2023, the Ghana Journalism Association (GJA) awarded him Best Art/Entertainment Reporter of the Year. In 2022, he won the MNT Maiden Bright Media Award with an outstanding report. Bolton used to be known in the media as an investigative journalist.
