Ghanaians in Lebanon asked to evacuate following ongoing crisis

Government has issued a pressing travel advisory for citizens residing in Lebanon. In light of the escalating crisis and potential dangers, the government is urging all Ghanaians to leave the country immediately.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said, given the deteriorating security situation, the government is encouraging Ghanaians to take advantage of the limited available flights to depart Lebanon.

“The rapidly unfolding crisis in Lebanon and its potential danger to Ghanaians living in that country, is a matter of great concern to the Government of Ghana,” the statement indicated.

The Ministry said for those who may not have necessary travel documents, the Embassy of Ghana in Cairo, Egypt, and the Ghana Honorary Consulate in Beirut, Lebanon, have been instructed to facilitate the issuance of Emergency Travel Certificates.
