The UK Police have closed their investigation into breaches of Covid rules in and around Downing Street, issuing around 20 further fines. The Met said the inquiry, which began in January, had resulted in a total of 126 fines across eight gatherings in government buildings.
The Met Police says some people have received more than one fine. Number 10 Downing Street says UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has paid a fine already and has been told he faces no further action after police closed their Partygate investigation. According to the BBC, Mr. Johnson’s wife, Carrie, did not receive a further fine.
