2 dead in plane crash at Marietta, Ohio

Tuesday morning, a twin-engine jet crashed into a car dealership lot not far from Marietta, Ohio, killing two individuals, according to authorities.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Nathan Dennis, the Beechcraft King Air E90 crashed in the Pioneer Buick GMC dealership’s parking lot, killing the pilot and the sole occupant in the aircraft.

Flightradar24 data indicates that, the plane was traveling from Columbus to Parkersburg, West Virginia, just a few miles from the disaster site, when it crashed shortly after 7 a.m. According to Dennis, the flight departed from John Glenn Columbus International Airport at roughly 6:35 a.m.

No one outside the plane was injured, Dennis said. The plane occupants’ names were not immediately released.
