Ghana<\/a> has condemned Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip over recent attacks in southern Israel resulting in several deaths and injuries.<\/h2><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\u2019s shock attacks by Hamas led to the deadliest day in decades for Israel and come after months of surging violence between Palestinians and Israelis with the decades-long conflict now heading into uncharted and dangerous new territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGhana unequivocally condemns the attacks and calls on the Hamas leadership to immediately cease the attacks and withdraw its militants from southern Israel,\u201d a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Sunday said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement issued on 8 October added: \u201cWhile Ghana affirms its support for Israel\u2019s right to exist and defend itself, it calls on the Israeli government to exercise restraint in its response to Hamas\u2019 attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement further called on the two sides to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to return to the \u201cnegotiation table”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
