{"id":317713,"date":"2024-03-25T17:19:19","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T17:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/?p=317713"},"modified":"2024-03-25T17:20:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T17:20:07","slug":"ghana-smart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/news\/education\/ghana-smart\/2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana Smart Schools Project aims to transform education sector"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Gloria Amoh<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Director General of the Ghana Education Service (<a href=\"https:\/\/ges.gov.gh\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/ges.gov.gh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GES<\/a>), Dr. Eric Nkansah, has stated that the Ghana Smart Schools Project program is designed to revolutionise classrooms and inner Senior High Schools with innovative technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the launch of the Smart Schools Project at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), Dr. Eric Nkansah explained that the theme for the project, &#8216;Education without Boundaries&#8217;, is visionary and aligns with the mandate at the Ghana Education Service to ensure that they deliver quality, inclusive, and relevant education for the benefit of all Ghanaians of school age without discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Towards the realisation of this mandate, the service has been implementing programs and policies formulated by the Ministry of Education to ensure that learning outcomes are improved, teaching skills are enhanced, and education is made more impactful and relevant for the benefit of all.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, since 2017, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo&#8217;s policies have aimed at improving educational standards and equipping learners with 21st century skills required to fully participate in this fourth industrial revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This includes the implemention of the free senior high school program and the operationalization of our STEM Schools championed by our hardworking Minister of Education, Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Eric Nkansah emphasised that this is a program designed to revolutionise classrooms, inner SHS with innovative technology to make teaching and learning much easier.
