A Programme Office at the Department of Gender in the region, Moses Tetteh Keney, described gender-based violence as harmful practices or acts that are perpetuated against a male or a female. He called on the need to raise voices against acts and practices that inhibit girls so that both boys and girls are given equal opportunity in every aspect of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Regional Director of the NYA, Evelyn Enyonam Lotsu, noted that Gender-Based Violence, GBV, remains a significant issue in Ghana, affecting individuals across various demographics. For this reason, her outfit, which is mandated by law to formulate policies and implement programmes to promote the development of the young people across the country, is committed to empowering the youth with knowledge to combat GBV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Madam Lotsu, by engaging the youth and the broader community, this initiative seeks to foster a culture of respect, support, and advocacy against violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sharing some sexual harassment acts that are exhibited against females by their male counterparts and vice versa by some of the students, Madam Lotsu thought them to be bold to say no or shame such perpetrators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG-20241204-WA0015.jpg?resize=800%2C600&ssl=1\")
