{"id":341770,"date":"2025-01-05T14:16:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-05T14:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/?p=341770"},"modified":"2025-01-05T18:23:33","modified_gmt":"2025-01-05T18:23:33","slug":"ousmane-diagana-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/news\/business\/ousmane-diagana-mahama\/2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Ousmane Diagana: World Bank VP for Western, Central Africa to visit Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>World Bank Vice President for Africa West and Central, Mr. Ousmane <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/about\/people\/o\/ousmane-diagana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diagana<\/a> will visit Ghana from January 6 to 11, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst in Ghana, Mr. Diagana will attend the inaugural ceremony of the swearing-in of H.E. President-Elect John Dramani Mahama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Diagana will also meet with H.E. President Mahama to discuss the vision of his incoming government and how the World Bank Group can support Ghana\u2019s prosperity and sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While in Accra, Mr. Diagana will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park\u202fand Mausoleum, the renovation of which was supported by the World Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among other site visits, Mr. Diagana will travel to Kumasi to pay a courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, discuss the advancement of the Kumasi Urban Mobility Accessibility Project (KUMAP) currently under preparation, and visit the KUMAP site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Bank has been in Ghana since 1957. The current active portfolio is worth US$4.84 billion across 25 active projects.
