{"id":342499,"date":"2025-01-09T15:22:53","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T15:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/?p=342499"},"modified":"2025-01-09T15:22:56","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T15:22:56","slug":"celestine-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/entertainment\/celestine-recognition\/2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Gospel artistes deserve recognition- Celestine Donkor\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Savannah Pokuaah Duah<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Celestine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Celestinedonkormusic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donkor<\/a>, is advocating for the creation of a dedicated local awards scheme to properly recognise and celebrate the achievements of Ghanaian gospel artistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gifted gospel minister emphasised that such recognition is crucial for the industry&#8217;s continued progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview on GTV&#8217;s Breakfast Show on Wednesday, January 9, 2024, Celestine stressed that the gospel music industry in Ghana has experienced significant growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlighting the rising global influence of Ghanaian gospel music, she stated, \u201cThe industry has really grown.We have artists who are doing very well, with their own concepts, and they&#8217;re doing well not just in Ghana but beyond.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Touching on exposure, she argued that lack of local recognition platforms has significantly hindered the progress of many gospel artists. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been in the industry for a long time, but it took me a long time to achieve what I have today.It&#8217;s because of the lack of platforms that would give us exposure.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These schemes are very important.They come to project the artist, and it&#8217;s time we begin to look into that,&#8221; she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the consistent growth of the gospel music scene in Ghana, Celestine&#8217;s call for a local awards scheme is a timely and important one.
