{"id":342526,"date":"2025-01-09T17:12:52","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T17:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/?p=342526"},"modified":"2025-01-09T17:12:56","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T17:12:56","slug":"bagbin-refers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gbcghanaonline.com\/news\/politics\/bagbin-refers\/2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Speaker Bagbin refers Mahama\u2019s ministerial nominees to Appointments Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Ashiadey Dotse<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Speaker of Parliament, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alban_Bagbin\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alban_Bagbin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alban Bagbin<\/a>, has officially referred three of President John Dramani Mahama\u2019s ministerial nominees to the Appointments Committee for vetting and approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nominees are Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Finance Minister-Designate, John Jinapor as Energy Minister-Designate, and Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Justice Minister-Designate. These appointments were announced in a message from the President\u2019s office dated January 9, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing Parliament, Speaker Bagbin said, \u201cI have received on your behalf a message from the office of the President. Honorable members, I will accordingly refer the nominees to the Appointments Committee for consideration and report to the House.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following this announcement, the Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, cautioned the nominees to prepare thoroughly for their vetting and emphasized that the process would be rigorous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to caution your nominees to come prepared.
