The Administrator in Charge of the Compassion is love in Action (CILIA) Orphanage at Yawhima in the Sunyani Municipality, Baafi Yeboah, is calling on corporate bodies and the public to go to their aid with funds especially, to help in the smooth running of the House and also to address some challenges it currently faces.
He stated that even though every gift is welcomed, gifts in a form of cash donations are particularly needed to enable the Orphanage embark on developmental projects to give its children a better life.
The Compassion is love in Action Orphanage is located at Yawhima, off the Sunyani Techiman Highway.
It was established in 2006 to help look after orphans.
The facility currently has 60 children consisting of 27 under home support meaning, though they have living relatives they still depend on the Orphanage for their upkeep.
Radio Ghana visited the house to interact with the Children and management of the facility to see how they are preparing for the holiday season.
The Administrator, Baafi Yeboah, acknowledged the support they have been receiving so far, saying it has been encouraging but was quick to add that the House is in a dire need of funds to embark on a number of projects since most of the donations are not in cash.
He also complained that high electricity cost has become a big challenge.
It was revealed that some inmates who have successfully completed Senior High School are unable to further their education as a results of the lack of funds.
The Administrator consequently appealed for scholarships for such inmates.
In the spirit of Christmas, the House has plans of organizing a Christmas party for the inmates and other kids in the area. Mr. Baafi Yeboah consequently appealed for help to make the event a success.
Mr. Baafi stressed the need for all and sundry to make it a point to reach out to the Compassion is Love in Action Orphanage this festive period to put smiles on the faces of the Children.
