Over one hundred teenage mothers from Cape Coast and other adjoining villages have received training in various entrepreneurial skills.

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan NEIP, is supporting the Women’s Ministry of Ghana Congress on Evangelization in this endeavour.

It is to equip the girls with employable skills and also end teenage pregnancy which is high in the area.

Most of the beneficiary teenage mothers got pregnant during the COVID-19 lock down period.

The NIEP therefore is giving them a source of livelihood with the training in entrepreneurial skills.

They were trained in soap making, bleach making, bead making and craft work. They were also given some tutorials on how to start a business.

The trainers were hopeful that the girls will become financially stable.

The National Secretary of the Women’s Ministry of Ghana Congress on Evangelization, Mrs. Mawuena Korantema Tsegah said the young girls are expected to  pass on the training acquired to other girls.

The teenage mothers were grateful for the support given them.
