The State has filed an Affidavit in Opposition to the bail application of twenty other Democracy Hub protestors at the High Court in Accra.

Lawyers for the twenty protestors are seeking bail for their clients after they were remanded by the Circuit Court following their arrests during the demonstration at the 37 roundabout in Accra on September 22, 2024.

Hearing of the bail application which was scheduled for today, October 8, 2024 had to be adjourned to tomorrow October 9, 2024 because the Court and the Defence Lawyers have not received copies of the State’s Affidavit in Opposition.

Twenty-one protestors have so far been granted bail by the Accra High Court.

Meanwhile, the protestors are expected to make their second appearance before the Accra Circuit Court today, October 8, 2024.
