An Educationist, Aheto Tsegah has reiterated the need for the government to review the Free Senior High School policy to cater for the educational needs of the poorest in society.
He noted that the egalitarian approach of the government towards the policy where regardless of one’s financial status benefits from the programme has not been helpful.
Mr. Tsegah said this in an interview with GBC News in Accra.
The Government’s Flagship Programme, the Free SHS, has come under intense scrutiny due to lack of finance.
Government cautioned on Free SHS
Mr. Tsegah cautioned the government not to create the impression that all Ghanaians cannot afford Senior High education and require such intervention.
He said individuals who can pay the bills must be allowed to do so in order to reduce the pressure on the government.
